Week 9 Results - June 17, and Scramble Results - June 24

OK, I'm back.  I imagine that many of you have been on the edge of your seats awaiting the week 9 results and the unveiling of the first half champion.  I will get to that shortly.  First and foremost, during my recent travels I have become used to be addressed as "Sir Lynn", and naturally will be expecting similar respect from league members from now on.

Before I get to week 9, there is a change from week 8.  The honorable Mike Warren notified me that he shot a 38 - not a 37 - during week 8.  That changed the results of his match and team points.  The updated week 8 results and standings are posted to the right.  As you will see, that change gave team Molter some breathing room heading into week 9, with a 2 point lead over team Rieves.

This finally brings us to week 9.  Team Kraus completed its typically futile end of the half dash with another 6 point week, vaulting it up to third place.  Team Rieves managed 5 points, putting the pressure on team Molter.  Undaunted, Team Molter also managed 5 points, and won the first half title.

Yanbing Lu posted the low score for the week with a 35.  Keith Brown shot a 37, and is the leader for low average at the season's half way point.  Michael Brania had the low net score with a 26.  Sub Nick Naus had a strong league debut with a 39 and winning two hole prizes.

Now, for the scramble results.  Team Warren was the only team to shoot under par with a 30.  Four teams shot even par.  Team McEvilly finished second thanks to 2 birdies.  Team Kraus grabbed third place with just 10 putts, thanks in part to a chip-in birdie by Captain Kraus on hole 9.  The team-by-team results follow.  Hole prizes were won by Pat Fahey (longest holed shot on #3), Dan Stanford (longest drive on #4), Charlie Hoslet (closest to pin in one on #6), and Team Warren (closest in two on #7).
