Results for Week 8 - June 10

The results for week 8 are posted to the right.  The speed of play was good, and the scoring average was a season low, with too many net scores in the 20s to post them all.

The race for the first half title is intense, with 6 teams with a mathematical chance.  Team Moritz made the biggest move this week with a 6 point sweep.  Team Warren moved into a tie with team Molter thanks to a one stroke edge in team strokes in thier head-to-head match.  Captain Rieves kept his team in contention almost on his own.  Teams Weber and Kraus can also dream dreams of a first half title.

Mike Warren was 3 under through 4 holes, could not maintain that insane start, yet still posted the low score of 37.  In the match of the night, Cody Loew shot a net 26, but lost by 2 to Caleb Hopkins, who shot the season low net 24.  They combined to shot a net 14 under par!  Rich Lampe, subbing for Mike Kraus, shot a stirring 39, net 27, in what might be his last round of the season as he undergoes ankle surgery on Friday, June 13.  Shane Gibson edged out his captain for long drive by a few feet for the second straight week, clearly creating controversy within the Weber team (we all know what a "win at all costs" competitor Chris is - Not).  Believe me, it was the only drive Shane had that ended in the fairway all night (and no, I am not bitter that he beat me by 4 - well, maybe a little).  David Miller continues to be a challenger for every long putt competition.

The first half wraps up next Tuesday (June 17).  In case of a rainout, the scramble will still be held on June 24, and our third double-header of the season will be held the following week to kick-off the second half of the season and to conclude the first half.  The results of the next two weeks will not be posted until the end of June.
