Week 5 2018 Results and Standings

Week 5 Results and Standings are posted.

Tuesday, June 5 was another beautiful evening. While one golfer gave the commissioner credit for the beautiful weather, that may be a slight exaggeration, but the compliment is appreciated.

Week 5 results show the heavy burden of being the commissioner, as past commissioner Dave Downing showed that now that he is free from the burden, his golf game is soaring.  For the second week in a row, Dave had the low net score, with a 28, tying with Ed Molter.  With such great golfing, Team Molter has extended their lead to 5 points.  However, there are still 3 weeks remaining in the first half of the season, so Team Molter better not go measuring for their trophy case just yet (I know we don't award trophies, but the point still holds.)

Glenway seemed to be in excellent shape this week and mosquitos were tolerable.  The average score continued to improve from 47 in week 4 to 46 this week.  At this rate, the average score will be a 36 by week 15.  Wouldn't that be just wonderful!

Three golfers broke 40 this week:
  • Mark Woodruff had the best score with a 35
  • Chris Pozza: 37
  • Dave Rieves: 38
There was one birdie this week.  Ambuj Shatdal on #3.

On the challenges, Pat McEvilly won closest to the pin on the first shot on hole #2.  Mike Sanders won longest drive on hole #5.  Dave Downing won closest second shot on hole #7.  Dave Rieves won longest putt on hole #9.  Congratulations to our challenges winners.
