Week 7 2018 Results and Stnadings

Week 7 Results and Standings are posted.

The rain largely held off on Tuesday, June 19 and golfers have commented on what good shape Glenway is in.  It was noted that they have a new mower for Glenway and we certainly see the improvement in the course.   Week 7 saw an improvement in scores as the average was 46 - better than last week's 47.

Our first group out decided to shake things up with the challenges.  Perhaps we should have a two beer limit before teeing off.  We certainly noted it when we got to #2 and found that the challenge was "closest to the pin on 3rd shot off the green."  A little different, but as long as you call it before you tee off on the hole, it isn't a problem I guess.  Challenge Winners were as follows:
  • Dave Downing - Closest to the pin 3rd shot (off the green) on Hole #2
  • Mike Sanders - Longest Drive
  • Mike Sanders - Most Putts
  • Barry Wanner - Closest Chip from off the green on Hole #7
Just a reminder to please mark the hole on the challenge markers - the commissioner's memory isn't too good.

Mike Brania had the low gross score with a 39.  He was the only golfer who broke 40 - congratulations Mike.  Four golfers shot 40 (Keith Brown, Scott Larson, Steve McDonnell, and Adam Hopkins).  Mike Brania and Andrew Preboski tied for the low net score a 27 - congratulations Andrew and Mike.

Regarding the standings, Team Molter had a Bye and Team Kraus dropped from second place to fourth.  With one week left in the first half, Team McEvilly and Team Rieves are the only ones with a mathematical chance of catching Team Molter.  Team McEvilly is 4.5 points back and Team Rieves is 6 points back.   Team Molter plays Team Jokisch and if Andrew Preboski wins by 12 again, look out.

Three golfers had birdies this week:
  • Dan Stanford on Hole #6
  • Scott Larson on Hole #9
A belated congratulations to Ambuj Shatdal for a birdie on #6 on Week #6 - I don't know how I missed a "2".
