Week 16 (September 1, 2020) Results and Standings

Week 16 of the UW Employee Golf League saw a real photo finish for the winner of the second half.  After all the ciphering was done, the winner was Team Rieves by .5 points over Team Raymer and by 1.0 points over Team Kraus.  Now golfers can spend the winter thinking about that putt that didn't fall or that drive you sliced into the trees.  So the championship match is set with Team McEvilly versus Team Rieves next Tuesday.  For the record, Team Rieves finished the second half with 25 points.  Team Raymer finished second with 24.5 points, and Team Kraus finished third with 24 points.

In other news, we had 30 golfers for our eight teams Tuesday, with the average an excellent 44. Three  golfer broke 40, with Scott Larson and Jimmy Yednock shooting 38, while Mark Woodruff (of course) shot 39.  Low net scores were Chris Hammen with a 27, while Rob Zimmerman and Mike Kraus had net 28.

The winners of the Flight Tournament are Jason Raffel in Flight 1 with a 90, Matt Raymer in Flight 2 with an 81, and Mike Sanders in Flight 3 with an 82.  A nice consolation prize for two members of Team Raymer and you can see why they almost came from behind in the second half.  The final Flight Tournament results are on the right.

Oddly we didn't have any birdies reported this week despite the great overall scoring average.
