The results for week 18 are posted to the right. Despite great weather scoring was not exceptional. Perhaps a thick and long rough was a factor. Keith Brown shot the only sub 40 round. Sub Rich Hoebel shot the low net score with a 28.
Team Rieves took 5 points from team Raymer to win the second half title. The playoff with team Molter is scheduled for September 2 and 4. The results of those matches and individual titles will be shared at the banquet to be held on September 9. The 2014 yearbook will be posted after the banquet.

Results for Week 17, August 19
The results for August 19 are posted to the right. What looked to be an iffy forecast turned into a terrific night for golf. The result was the best league scoring average for the season despite a disappointing night for several of us. The flight tournaments have many in contention, although sandbagger Gibson has taken an early claim on flight three.
Steve McDonnell shot the best round of the night with a 36. One shot behind were Matt Raymer and Keith Brown. The low net came from sub Sasi Pillay with a net 25, with regular Dan Stanford shooting a net 26.
Team Raymer took the second half lead with a 5 point night, one point ahead of team Rieves. Those two teams take on each other next week. Team Molter has an outside chance at a two half sweep, but that is a long shot.
There is a good chance that the league banquet will be delayed a week until September 9. We will wait to hear more from team Warren about that.
There are a significant number of rule issues for us to consider at the banquet. I plan to provide a handout to everyone when they finish their week 18 round providing additional information, and will post the same information on this blog before the banquet. I want to give everyone a chance to consider the options before we vote. We have some iffy teams for next season, and a return to 8 teams will be one thing we discuss.

Results for Week 16, August 12
The results for August 12 are now posted. Teams Molter and Rieves, who had separated a bit from the rest of the league, managed only 2.5 points between them and let others back in, notably team Raymer. Should be interesting the final two weeks.
Sandbagger Gary Buehler shot a season low 46, net 26, to post the low net score of the week. His net 26 matched those of sandbaggers Loew and Gibson from the previous week, setting up a tight battle for the thrid flight tournament title. The other two levels are wide open. Keith Brown had the low gross score with a 38.

Pairings for Week 16, August 12
The pairings for August 12 are shown below. Here is hoping that team McEvilly shows up in full (which they usually do) and makes team Molter earn their points for a change.
I am in the first group, and plan to be available when players end their matches to hand out ball prizes won over the season. If you have won a hole prize or been low net, please stop by to collect your prize.

Results for Week 15, August 5
The results for August 5 are posted to the right. Our in-season tournament got off to a fine start with some nice weather, but a somewhat spartan turnout of just 33 players. Only one player from team Warren appeared, but still managed one point, exceeding their second half weekly average. With 3.5 points after 6 weeks, they may be on a record low pace. Team Molter took advantage of two forfeits to collect 5 points, maintaining a one point lead. Team Rieves, led by Lynn Paulson and Dave Rieves with a 35 and 37 respectively, kept pace with 5 hard-earned points of their own.
Shane Gibson and Cody Loew each shot a net 26, registering the low net scores of the night and taking the lead for the flight three tournament. For those who had a bad night, remember that the tournament only counts your three best scores, meaning you could throw your August 5 score out with some good showings in the coming weeks.
In case it went unnoticed, the out-of-bounds stakes on hole 9 have been moved to the other side of the tree line. Players who tend to hit shots to the right now have more room to work with.

Pairings for Week 15, August 5
The pairings for August 5 are posted below. This is the first week of the 4 week season ending tournament (see the previous post below). Time to go low!
Starting this week, I will only post a paper copy of the pairings at the first tee - not at the clubhouse. Hope that will work for everyone, and it will save a sheet of paper each week.
