"4th of July Eve" and the Scramble

A few people have asked me why we're golfing on July 3, when many people might be leaving town.  There are several reasons . . .
  • I don't know any better.
  • We've got 19 weeks to get in between late April and Labor Day, and need every one of them.
  • With July 4 on a Wednesday I assumed fewer people would make a vacation of it.
However, in the spirit of flexibility (the most important league principle, as relayed to me by the former commissioner) I can offer an alternative if it's important to people.  We could cancel/reschedule the league scramble, move the 7/3 match-ups to 6/26, and have a night off on July 3.  If we still want to do a scramble, we could schedule it on a non-Tuesday, if we wanted.  It could be optional, too.

Obviously, we need to make a decision quickly (preferably by this coming Tuesday), so I can communicate any schedule change to the league.

If you feel strongly about this (or even if it doesn't really matter to you) please let me know what your preference would be.  You can leave a comment on this post, or email or call me to answer this question:
Should we cancel or reschedule the league scramble so we can have an off night on July 3?

Personally, it doesn't matter much to me. I enjoy the scramble, but wouldn't miss it that much if we skipped it for a year.

Love the scramble, but all the schedule changing or not doesn't matter to me. Paul S.

The scramble sounds fun, but, would not break my heart to move it off of the 3rd.
