Living in the Past

It now occurs to me that - with the chaos of a league championship round to schedule, a banquet to prepare for, the start of Badger football, and a vacation to pack for - I did not provide avid blog readers the necessary closure to the 2008 league season.

Without further ado (well, maybe just a drum roll) . . . . the Dave Wolfe team (including Paul Barnett, Adam Hopkins, and eater-of-pressure Mike Sanders) edged out the Bob Moritz team (including Tom Hidde, Bob Lomasney, and Paul Schuettler) by a single stroke to take their second straight league championship.

After a whirlwind championship tour, including a congratulatory call from former President Bush and a trip to the White House, we're ready to fight for the three-peat.

Check back often, because 2009 information is going to be coming soon. Season starts April 28!

Week 18 Results Posted

I have posted the results for Week 18 of the golf season. Also posted are the Final 2nd Half Standings.

It took all season, but we finally had an eagle on Tuesday. Congratulations to Adam Hopkins, who holed his 86-yard second shot on the 1st hole Tuesday night for an eagle 2. Last season, Mike Kraus eagled #1 and Charlie Ponti eagled #5 (which we may never see again).

The Championship Match-Ups have been set, as the Moritz team is the 1st Half Champion and the Wolfe team the 2nd Half Champion.

Here are the match-ups:
Bob Moritz (11) vs Paul Barnett (12)
Paul Schuettler (12) vs Mike Sanders (16)
Tom Hidde (13) vs Adam Hopkins (17)
Bob Lomasney (13) vs Dave Wolfe (18)

The schedule, however, is not so clear-cut. Here are the planned tee times (weather permitting).

Thursday, 5:07 p.m: Barnett/Hidde/Hopkins/Schuettler
Thursday, 5:30 p.m: Lomasney/Wolfe
Friday, 5:00 p.m: Moritz/Sanders
