According to league rules, "In the case of a tie in the standings at the end of a half-season, net scores in the head-to-head matchups in that half-season between all teams involved in the tie are summed, and the team with the lowest cumulative net score from those matchups will be the winner of the half."

The result? Team Rieves storms back from dead last after Week 2 to claim the first-half championship!
In other news, Rob Zimmerman returned from a two-week vacation and picked up right where he left off, shooting a league-low net of 24. That didn't quite match his net 23 from May 26, but he did have an even better gross of 51 (vs. 52). Will Nagel, subbing for his dad Ed Molter, finished birdie-birdie and netted a 25. Besides Will, others with birdies included Dave Rieves on hole #3, Dan Steinhoff on #6, Mike Sanders on #8, and Jeff Mautz on #9.
This week's challenge winners, all determined on the 9th hole, where the crowd waited anxiously for results were Mike Brania, longest drive; Jeff Mautz, closest to the pin on his second shot; Jim Parrott, closest chip; and Will Nagel, longest putt.
Finally, in the drawing for cash prizes (with golfers' names being entered once for every challenge hole or low net honor they'd won in the first half), Brad Nelson, Jim Parrott, Carl Stroud, and Rob Zimmerman each won $25.
