Team Raffel won the season-ending championship match, defeating last year's champions Team Mack 5-1.  Jon Wellik birdied 3 and 8 for the Raffelites, and his match-leading 38 gross (32 net) edged Jimmy Yednock, while Al Crist defeated Tom Hidde by shooting a match-leading 30 net.

In the scramble event, Team Kraus edged Team Rieves by one stroke.  The contest was on the line when Eric Durkee stood on the fringe of the 9th green, putter in hand.  Getting up and down would leave the two teams tied, and by the rules of the tiebreaker the scramble would be won by Team Rieves, because they beat Team Kraus head-to-head in Week 10.  Eric rolled it in for birdie, just as he had done on the previous hole.

The league welcomes Todd Robinson back to action, just in time for the championship match.  Note that play begins at 4:40 this week.

Let's play the lower tees on 8.  Champions should be able to say they gritted it out.  In the scramble, if four guys can't land at least one ball on the green, they deserve to be eaten up by the bugs.  Also, remember that teams must use at least one tee shot from each player, and we revert to the former practice on putting: NO TWO-PUTT MAX.
